Thank goodness we've finally gotten rid of our black-caped-and-mustachioed Republican governor here in California, so a Democrat can undo all the damage he's done. Right? Well sure, if by "right" you mean "completely wrong":
Gov. Jerry Brown has told Californians to sit down, fasten their seat belts and brace themselves for the budget proposal he will unveil Monday to address a deficit that could top $28 billion.Last week, he said his proposal may be even more drastic than many anticipate. ...
While the rhetoric is akin to his immediate predecessor, Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger, the reaction by Democratic lawmakers who control the Legislature has changed.Instead of declaring the proposal dead-before-arrival or warning Brown not to cut into the safety net for children, the poor and the elderly, Democrats say everything is up for consideration and California government in its current form will have to change.
Just as President Dronebomba is demonstrating once again for us on the national stage, it's much easier for Democrats to implement Republican policies since there's effectively nobody to oppose them.
(Other than a few malcontents who can't seem to accept the political calculus that renders the exact same thing more acceptable as long as it's your guy doing it, of course, but nobody pays attention to these delusional fools anyway.)
But hey, the Mark Twain book is less upsetting now, so victories for 'liberals' all the way 'round!
If your child still has a school and can afford a book, that is.

Also, don't forget, now LGBT people can also fight and die in senseless, illegal wars overseas! The victories just keep on comin'!

I, for one, will not rest until all spouses in a polyamorous marriage can be presented with flags from the coffins of loved ones blown to bits in the name of freedom -- or something.
