I was discussing your post with a friend yesterday and while I got the obvious (a whistleblower is less likely to be prosecuted by a Republican administration), my friend pointed out that if you are prosecuted by a Republican, you'd have far greater support "hammering" the administration. So thanks for the clarification...some of us need it :-)

So that makes it 101%.

Manning may not be Ellsberg in many respects, but in one respect he is, in spades. Courage!

On the other hand, Manning didn't spend years working for the man, either.

Actually, "on the other hand" really isn't the right opening above. What I meant was that another plus for Manning is that he didn't spend years working for a defense think tank.
