Apparently George Bush is such a nincompoop that even his homophones are wrong:
"Congress is not getting it's work done," Bush said, flanked by members of the Republican House leadership. "The House of Representatives has wasted valuable time on a constant stream of investigations, and the Senate has wasted valuable time on an endless series of failed votes to pull our troops out of Iraq."
You wonder how the CNN reporter could hear the apostrophe--but considering the speaker, maybe he just assumed it must be there. I certainly wouldn't argue it with him.
Going past the schadenfreude of typos, though, the more obvious error is Bush's worldview. There are always fantasies being spun about the Democrats (both by supporters and detractors), but Bush's version--in which the Democrats are diligently investigating the endless crimes of his administration and voting over and over again to pull the military out of Iraq, as opposed to spending their time rubber-stamping his agenda--is particularly amusing. If only it were true.
UPDATE: CNN has removed the offending apostrophe from they're article, even though it was obviously interpolatable based on Bush's pea-sized brain. I was hopeful that they'd stick to there guns, but apparently their cowards.
Ha ha ha! Hear the apostrophe. Very funny!
